Centro’s new integration with Nuance Dragon Medical SpeechKit offers healthcare professionals a best of breed solution with two products that work in complete harmony. As Centro was already an efficiency enhancing workflow and documentation application, this new seamless integration with Nuance has provided even more power and control for the user.

Nuance advanced voice and language technologies are based on billions of enduser interactions. Their hosted platform learns at scale, capturing more than 300 million minutes of voice dictation every year for a smarter, faster, more responsive experience.

The DragonBar is integrated directly into Centro so that clinicians can easily use speech-to-text to document their patient encounters. In addition, they can also use voice commands to navigate through their text for formatting or correction.

Dragon’s multitude of features improve efficiency and workflow. Auto-text commands are custom voice commands that allow users to insert specific text into a Centro section with voice recognition. These commands are particularly useful for content that is frequently reused in reports, as they save time and reduce errors.

The vocabulary feature allows users to add missing words, or words that are not well recognized into their personal library. Users can even optionally train Dragon on the pronunciation of a word or phrase. Adding words and pronunciations can reduce any erroneous words from reappearing the next time they are dictated, leading to less corrections.

Available in both English and French, Centro’s integration with the Dragon Medical SpeechKit significantly minimizes the need for corrections and edits, helps ensure consistency and precision in clinical reports and alleviates the administrative burden on healthcare professionals. This workflow reduces burnout and grants clinicians additional time for crucial patient interactions and other essential tasks.
